Florida Keys Paddleboarding

Stand up paddling in the Florida Keys is some of the best paddling in the world, offering calm conditions, crystal clear warm waters, and an incredibly rich eco system above and below the surface. oTHErside is proud to offer you three locations to enjoy paddling in the Florida Keys

#1. The "Paddle Shack" at Lorelei MM82. (Short-term rentals and Guided Tours)

How lucky we are to call this home base for our on-the-water tours and rentals! Lorelei Restaurant and Cabana Bar (81924 Overseas Highway, Islamorada) is a popular watering hole for local and visitors alike, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner on the waterfront. This bayside property is notorious for its amazing sunsets, but for oTHErside's paddlers, it provides much, much more. The property sits at the tip of Little Basin. This wild-life rich, 1/2 mile long, shallow area is surrounded by a ring of small mangrove islands. These mangrove islands provide shelter from the wind but also an incredibly rich ecosystem. On a good day, paddlers can expect to see an array of birds, fish, coral, lobster, starfish, rays, sea turtles and manatees. The southern portion of the basin has mangrove tunnels to explore and is certainly worth going the extra distance.

This location offers both paddleboard and kayak rentals, and is also the start and finish points of our guided tours and LED lit night tours. Especially for beginner paddleboarders, we highly recommend our guided eco tour. Not only do you get to go through the best routes, but you get some paddling advice and instruction along the way. Our guides will bring you across Islamorada’s notorious ‘flats,’ as well as the deeper ‘blue-water’ for swimming if you choose to. Our favorite spots along the way include ship wrecks, mangrove tunnels, and shark nurseries where we often see baby sharks in only a few inches of water. No experience is necessary! Minimum of two people to book a tour and reservations are recommended.

oTHErside also offers advanced excursions for experienced paddlers that include two of our offshore state parks (Indian Key State Historic Site, Lignumvitae Key Botanical State Park) as well as paddle/snorkel trips to Alligator Reef Lighthouse, Cheeca Rocks or Caloosa Gardens.

Paddleboard yoga classes are available upon request with our certified yoga instructors. Call 305-853-9728

New! GoPro Photo Package.  Your guide will capture you looking like a pro along with all the beauty of the Florida Keys above and below the water.  You'll leave your experience with hundreds of photos and videos just like may of the ones you see on this page.
