Welcome to the ultimate kids adventure camp. This is no ordinary camp! It is a week for experiencing the 'otherside' of traditional sports and Florida Keys water activities, with strong emphasis on environmental awareness and healthy living. Recommended for ages 8-12.
SESSION 1: JUNE 12-16 (SOLD OUT)
SESSION 2: JUNE 26-30 (SOLD OUT)
SESSION 3: JULY 10-14
SESSION 4: JULY 24-28
Day 1: Keys Cable Park Experience
Cable wakeboarding is absolutely the easiest way to learn how to ride, and that is exactly how the kids will kick off their week. Our expert coaches will take them through step by step process of standing up on a wakeboard. Keys Cable will host the kids for a full day of private wakeboarding sessions, split with team building activities, plastic pollution awareness and an intro to tropical agriculture
Day 2: Sailing/Intro to Kiteboarding
Kids will learn the basics of wind theory and weather patterns on the beach before we sail out to the sandbar for trainer kite and skimboarding fun. They will be guided by both US Sailing, and International Kiteboarding Association certified instructors as they grasp the concept of harnessing the wind.
Day 3: Rock Climbing
Indoor climbing gym with over 14,000 sq ft provides climbing routes for all levels of climbers and will give the kids a break from the summer sunshine while they push their limits to new heights. X-treme Rock Climbing gym in Miami provides a family fun environment where the kids will learn about basic climbing gear, the belay system and knot tying.
Day 4: Paddle Exploration
Kayak or paddleboard though the Florida Bay. Our route includes mangrove tunnels, swimming holes, boat graveyard, and even an on-the-water pirates scavenger hunt! Kids can expect to see a variety of wildlife including starfish, conch, turtle, rays and much more. Their tour guide will work with the kids on identifying the different mangrove types as well as many birds and other animals.
Day 5: Skateboarding/Give Back/Pizza Party
Special guest skateboarders will join us to teach the basic and demonstrate the potential of this very accessible sport. After a few hour shred session at the Marathon skate park, the crew will use their newfound knowledge and appreciation of the Florida Keys Eco System by giving back to the community. Mangrove clean-up that includes special 'treasure hunt' items will be followed by an end-of camp pizza party at Bayside Gourmet. Parents and siblings are encouraged to join. Photo packages of your child's most epic week will be available for purchase at this time.
A Note to Parents:
-Scheduling within the week is subject to change. Many of the activities planned are very dependent on wind and weather, in particular the Sailing/Kiteboarding and Paddle. As we want your child to have the best experience possible, we will be constantly monitoring weather and adjusting our weekly plan to provide the best conditions possible for that given adventure. Updates will be given at the end of everyday or sooner if possible.
